Fav gun and actions
« on: May 13, 2007, 07:43:55 AM »
at the airgun hunting club we were talking about with action was the best for hunting. we all had hunt different kinds of game and in different place some we all like something different.

i like all guns but it would have to be a bolt because i want the 270win and it better in a bolt.

Bolt action in 30-06. I leave the Remington with the pretty wood stock locked up at home and take the Savage stainless w/ ugly black plastic stock almost everytime. It's lighter, more accurate, and I don't worry about banging it up.

I voted......lever but i would guess the bolt would be 1A.
As "time" moves on the weight of the rifle quickly comes into play. That being said my Sav 99F in .250 fits my
   weight requirements to a tee.
Favorite gun /action can mean different things to different people.  In my case weight is a major concern.
The .250 takes care of the rest.  ;D

When I first started shooting I loved blasting thru ammo with my semi-auto's. I first had a Ruger 10/22 then a Colt Rifle in 9mm, next a few Ruger Mini-14's and then AR-15's.
Next I got interested in accurate varmint rifles.
Now I love my single shots. I have a few Rem XP-100's as well as other varmint handguns and also have fallen in love with Ruger No.1's.
Who knows what will be next!

Rem 700 or 7 in whatever I'm interested in at the moment.  Currently 7-08, .280, and .260.
