Beats me.

I ASSUME (classic definition) that it's someone with more 'rights', 'accesses', and passwords than me.

I would expect Graybeard or Matt would be the likely folks that it COULD be. although I've seen them logged in as themselves.

So maybe it's someone with a split personality that has a yet undetected side.

If this was back in the '60's it would likely be some communist.

I'm not sure, but maybe if you uncheck the option Show others your online status? in your profile, you may show as hidden to everyone but admin.

Why folks want to hide online I have no clue. I'm sure each has a reason that to them is rational but likely based on a false premise. They can't hide from me and Matt and might not be able to from Global Moderators but I'm not sure about that.

I'm hidden when logged in as GBOMGMT because I only log in under that user name when I have but a short time to do some admin function I need to take care of and don't want folks trying to PM me when seeing me as I might not log in again under that name for a month or even two. If I have enough time to spend online I'll log in as Graybeard or on rare occassions as Greybeard. I use the latter generally only when I've somehow messed up and lost the ability to see what's new since I was last logged in which happens from time to time.

I'd hazard a guess folks think that's the way to hide their e-mail address from other members or spam bots but it's not.

I get it someone enjoys their privacy, does not want to be part of the group. I knew plenty of kids in pre-school that enjoyed playing blocks by themselves...

Maby their G-Men,  BATF,  keeping tabs on us,  Well I don't think so.  It is allways interesting when they come to my tables at gun shows, ask questons and walk away with that slight grin when they hear the answer they hope to hear.  The G men must practice keeping a straight face.  That happened in April,  they don't introduce themself, although paying attention to their questions one can tell who they may be.
