Twist Rate
« on: May 23, 2007, 04:31:00 PM »
Veral,
I have a DW 41 Mag. with the 18 3/4 twist rate. I have the Cast Performance 250 WFNGC, and have tried them between 1200 and 1400 fps. The best groups at 100 meters run 3.5". I was wondering if you know of another 250 or so grain cast bullet that might work better in this twist?  Thanks!     John Roberts

I know you say in this "twist rate", I am assuming that you know that Dan Wesson made two barrels for the 41, the other was in 1:14 twist rate that really stabilized the heavier bullets better. I have never owned a 41 it is on the list.

I am sorry I am no help for you. but if I were you I would shoot off an e-mail to Genny at the factory and see if by chance they have any barrels in 1:14 laying around they are under $89.00 depending on the length.

If that is something you are not interested in I would try a lighter bullet just to see if accuracy improves.
