Question for Redhawk1, 460 Scope
« on: May 29, 2007, 04:18:12 PM »
Redhawk1,
You mentioned in my previous topic of what rings to use on a 460 that you have a Bushnell  scope on your 460.
I just mounted a Burris 2x7 on my 460 using the integral barrel Weaver style base as you mentioned you used to get the scope over the barrel. It was instantly noticeable that I was running out of eye relief, especially at 4 power and over.
Do you have a similar problem with the Bushnell, which according to their website has a constant 21" of eye relief?
If not, what do you find to be the limitations, if any, for this constant eye relief?
Also, do you have any problem with the objective lens being almost over the muzzle break, like fogging of the scopes objective lens?
I appreciate your response to the above questions.
Thanks, a fellow gun lower,

Revolver Nuts, I don't have any problem with the eye relief at any setting from 2 to 6 power with the Bushnell scope. As far as the scope over the compensator, I am about an inch away from the compensator. I have not had any problem related to the compensator and scope.  Hope this helps.

Redhawk1,
Thank you. I just ordered a Bushnell 3200 2x6 from Optics Planet for $289.00 with free shipping.
I'll have to wait until next week to mount and try it but I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

You made a great choice. I prefer the Bushnell handgun scopes to most others out there. The only Scope I like better is the Leupold 2.5X8 EER scope.

I like Leupold also. Actually all of my scopes are Leupold except for the Burris on my 44mag and now the Bushnell.
However, I don't think the Leupold 2.5 x 8 would work in this case as the advertised eye relief is only 15 inches.
