Holster for 4" SP101 (.22)
« on: June 29, 2003, 06:03:47 PM »
I'm trying to find a nice holster for my Ruger SP101. So far all the holsters I have run across are for the 2" and 3" .357 models. Also, most 4" revolver holsters are for larger framed guns? Any other SP101 owners out there with suggestions?

There is a division of uncle mikes called "Gunmate". They make a holster that will fit the SP101. I bought one for my Snakeshot revolver.
I believe the size you will need is a 28.
Hope I helped.

Thanks Travis. That's what I wound up with. Had a real nice leather holster for the Mark II I traded, and hoped I could find something nice for this one, but so far all I have found would be a custom job I really don't want to pay for with a .22, and the nylon.

I use a DeSantis #12 shoulder holster for my 32 mag. It's a thumb break and it fits like a glove.

I just picked up a Gould & Goodrich KDB 34 in a used bin for $5.  It fits my 4" SP101 .22 perfectly.

SP101 accuracy

It is a nail driver ( read: hammer) but NOT not a match shooter.  It is built like a SOB, i.e. it will outlast modern civilization, seriously, this gun is built to handle .357 +P+ loads  - now consider that a .22lr bore and cylinder have even MORE metal and you have a very substantial firearm.  My rear sight is windage only adj. so that hampers accuracy but I like mine and will never part with it.  It is a very utilitarian, dependable, revolver that is well put together and will last many lifetimes.
