444 marlin/44 magnum

Can the 44 magnum cartridge be shot in the 444 Marlin handi rifle? Charlie

It may work, but it wouldn't be a wise thing to do considering the difference in case head size, I wouldn't recommend it.

Being the 444 marlin is almost an inch longer than the 44 i would say it may not be very accurate long jump to the rifling. Plus what Quick said.

Thanks. I was just wondering because I read in a post last night that someone said they checked on the 44 mag barrel and the twist was still 1/38 and they said they decided that they would go with the 444. Charlie

That may have been my post was going to get the 444 but they are out of stock for 4-6 weeks :'( i ordered the 500 I'll get the 444 later.
