The surprising thing to me here is the lack of general outdoor knowledge shown. In the US a section is one square mile, 36 sections in a Township, etc. One section is 640 acres, so 2400 acres is 3.75 square miles. That is a rather large tract of fenced land, particularly if wooded.....
What I read said the plot of land he was hunting was 2400 acres, which if square is two miles long by two miles wide. I don't know about you guys, but it takes me about 25 minutes to hike two miles. If there were the kid, more than one guide (they didnt specify how many, but said guides), the dad, it would not take too long at all to locate and kill this pig.
