I wish Ruger would offer...
« on: May 17, 2007, 12:10:27 AM »
I wish Ruger would offer walnut stocks on their stainless rifles as a regular item. Here are my 77 MK-II .243 and my 77/22 .22 Magnum without the factory plastic and with factory walnut.

I intended to have them all sealed up by hunting season this year.

Handsome rifles! I've got a MK II .338 stainless with the "boat paddle" stock. It sure would look much nicer with one of those on it. Did you carve them? if not who did the work?

Ruger carved them. They are factory stocks that would have been sold on blued guns.

I agree,

I put a vintage factory walnut carbine stock on my 10/22 with the long22" stainless barrel and peep sights.

I like you m77 I would like one in 30/06 like that with the sights.

I wish they would offer all their rifles with iron sights.  Been hunting twice and knocked my scopes off by accidents.  I slipped on a muddy logging road once and fell, and almost had a vehicle accident by slamming on brakes in my truck an my rifle fell out of gun rack and both times scopes were way off when I checked them.  I just like iron sights as a back up.  I no longer use a gun rack, but I didn't go out hunting expecting to slip and fall either.  Was stalking, when I slipped.  I like Rugers safety on their bolt guns and I like the claw extractor, and I like stainless, but no sights as back ups.
