Elk hunt w/tang-sighted Rolling Block using BP loads?
« on: June 06, 2003, 05:47:37 AM »
Anybody hunt elk regularly with a Rolling Block dressed with a tang sight using BP loads? Tell me about your experiences.

can't tell you about a Riolling Block with a tang sight, but I hunt with an original Ballard #4 Perfection, in .45-70, with long range tang sight, and Lyman 17 globe front sight.
I have taken game out to 100 yds on two occasions, since I started shooting this old Ballard. I'm restoring a Remington Hepburn in .45-70 presently, and it will be my hunting partner this fall, if it's complete by then!
Ballard, the great American Rifles!
