Loading lap bullets
« on: June 07, 2007, 06:13:50 AM »
I still have several calibers I need to load lap bullets .  The last ones I did got my dies really messy.  Is there a preferred way to do it?    I am wondering if I am leaving too much goop on the bullets?

I am using  a progressive since I don't have a single stage any more.

Thanks,

Craig

Getting the dies messy is part of the job.  You will not loose lapping speed if you wipe all excess compound off the bullets after charging them (rolling the lap on).  Be sure to wash the dies out with solvent after loading lap bullets.
