Mallard you  said that you can seperate the fish oil by using a turkey cooker.  How do you mean and how do you do it?  How many months do i let it set?  What will it look like?

Nope, I meant turkey baster to remove the oil.  This most likely isn't the best method for big production, but for the amount I turn each year works well. As far as what you'll see? As the fish renders the oil releases and floats to the top of the mix. You will see a clear yellow layer on top if all goes well.  As far as how long to let it set? Depends on how warm the weather. On a good hot sunny day, you can tell the mix is "working" well by the ammount of gas releasing through the tube (Bubbles).  I've had mixes take anywhere from a few weeks to 2 1/2 months. It just depends. You'll know it when you get there as the seporation of the layers is pretty obvious.  If gas is still releasing through the tube....you're still rendering. If no bubbles (during mid-day heat), then it's pretty safe to guess you're done.
