I have a 1941-vintage .35 that's in 95%+- condition that I'm fond of. They are big and heavy (real walnut and steel do that...not much of that anymore) so there's a plus and a minus there, depending on your point of view. If you like the look of the Browning A5 shotgun, you'll like the 81 Woodsmaster. The fit and finish are indicators of the way things were done 60+ years ago. Not a rifle to take apart and tinker with without instructions. One of John Browning's designs, so functioning is flawless...mild recoil. Good "woods" accuracy.
They have never been hot with the collectors so prices are mild by today's standards, although I do see some upward movement. There's usually a few on Gunbroker.com.
I think you'd enjoy having one...if only to turn the clock back a bit.
