My dad and I have been having tons of fun with our 30-30s lately. We have one problem however. Thought I would see if anyone else has seen this or if I am off my rocker. He is occasionally getting failure to fire. We have been trying to take notes of when it happens, and it seems that it only happens with the winchester brass. Upon looking yesterday, it appears that the rim of the Remington brass is just a bit thicker than the winchester. After we noticed that, we looked at the primers on the two types and the winchesters have noticeably lighter primer strikes than the remingtons. Also, the strikes in the winchesters are lighter on his gun than mine.
Anyone else ever noticed this difference? Since we think we have found the problem, it isn't a big deal. Just have to stick with remington brass for him. Are the specs for different companies really off that much?
