Release lever sticks after firing.
« on: June 14, 2007, 07:42:57 PM »
I have a .243 Handi-rifle. After firng a few rounds at the range, the release lever became very difficult to depress. It would eventually work after I messed with it for awhile.  From that point on, it would jam after each fired round .  Ammo was Remington Core-Lokt.  What do you all think?  Is this a cleaning issue?  Thanks for your help.

Welcome to GBO:

It could be...and it also could be a burr on the release lever..pivot..or shelf that is causing it to hang...Normal factory loads don't cause this..

My release was sticking, so sprayed a little  oil on it and worked it a few times.  No more problems.
