Hello boys,
I was just on the Auctionarms site, and they have a Rossi Overland 12 guage with outside hammers and 20 inch barrels.  They don't say if it's new or not.  I have one that I bought about 20 years ago that's a carbon copy of the one pictured on their auction, and their price is about $875, and that's NOT ENOUGH.
I thought these guns would be about $350-$400 on the used market, this price surprised me.  I know I don't see them much for sale, but I didn't know they would bring these kinds of bid demands.  Are people paying these kinds of prices for overlands?

I am not sure about the Rossi, but in my experience most of the items on Auctionarms go for more $ than I would think.  I lurk around the blackpowder items for sale, hoping for a bargain on another cap and ball revolver.  The regularly sell for more money than a new out of the box one does at Cabelas.  Many of the items are listed as Piettas which is what CAbela's primarily stocks and they go for $40-50 more.  I don't understand it myself.  I prefer to be able to pick a gun up and inspect it prior to purchase and know I can take it back for problems.

They're fun hammer guns (and look period correct), but don't see how anyone could justify $800+.  I like mine fine, but think the $400 price mentioned is even kinda high.  Did some trading for mine, and think I've got maybe $150 tied up in it.  Secret is to find someone willing to part with one who has never heard of CAS.

I was looking at a used one a short while back that appeared in great condition at a shop and they were asking $295. I passed.
