Garden in the Ground---- Almost
« on: March 22, 2009, 01:22:46 PM »
'Taters, Corn, Cucumbers, Squash (yellow crookneck and Zucchini), Okra, Onions, Collards, 'Maters, Peppers (Sweet Bell and Cayenne) and Summer Cabbage planted.
Still got Peas (Pink Eye Purple Hull, White Zipper, White Acre, Cream 40's, Dixie Butter) and carrots to plant tomorrow.
Will wait until March 26th to plant my Watermellons and Cantaloupes (so the signs will be right). Will plant my String Beans when my corn is about 1' tall.
Had a 25' x 60' garden spot tilled up with a power tiller. All the other work like laying out the rows, hilling the taters, chopping the weeds, etc.  I am doing totally by hand. Right now, I am sore in places I didn't even know I had.

I LOVE SPRING!!!!!!!

I know what you mean by being sore. I might just plant a little corn myself this year.  I did get the onions in today. It will be a while before it is warm enough to plant everything else though. Dale

I'm envious of you folks. All I can do is look at my seeds in the packets. We still have about 3 to 4 more weeks before we can put anything in the ground up in VT. But I'm ready as soon as the ground warms up.
Hope you all have a great growing season.
