Your misfires can be caused by something other than a weak hammer mainspring.
Excessive headspace, minimum firing pin protrusion, dried oil in the firing pin channel, or dirty action and chamber are all possibilities.
It is not uncommon to find a forty year old gun that has never been detail stripped and cleaned.
I would suggest a complete field stripping, bolt and firing pin removal, and cleaning in a good powder solvent.
The heavy trigger pull can be due to a chipped or rough hammer/trigger sear interface. Disassembly, cleaning and inspection are also in order.
