Unfortunately, so are many others.  The closest thing you will find (other than a custom $2000 piece) is the Marlin 336 in .35 Remington (which leaves no commercial reason to chamber the same in a less common, less powerful round).  The Win '92 and Marlin '94 are too short to be so chambered or converted.  Until someone tools up for a longer lever action (never happen) the only option for the Max is the TC, H&R Ultra or Ruger #1 single shots.

I'm thinking that a Winchester M94 Trails End rifle that is chambered in .357 Mag could have the lifter modified for the longer cartridge and the chamber lengthened. Yes?

The standard operating pressures for the .357 Max are well above those of both the .357 Remington magnum and the .30-30 which would eleminate the use of the Marlin'94 and Winchester '92 or '94 actions for any conversion.

I'm puzzled by the interest in a .357 max lever action.  It's an obscure round for which ammo and brass are very difficult to find.

If you want the performance of an "enhanced" .357 magnum, the .357/44 magnum wildcat (.44 mag necked down to .357)  would seem to be the answer.  It's a well recongized wildcat round and economical compoents are readlily available.  I've seen some data on this round that approaches the .35 Remington in performance. I've seen stories about Win m-94 and Marlin 1994 .44 mgs that were re-barreled to this round and it seemed like a neat idea.

How about a 357/444, it should do what you want.

It could be done on the Rossi m92. If it can hold the .454 it could hold 357 max check out stevesgunz

The M92 Winchester and clones are to short to handle the 357 Max. A Mod 94 Winchester in 357Mag is the only candidate. Feeding problems are the greatest expense in this conversion. The Mod 94 Win has been converted from 44Mag to 445 Supermag. Finding the smith willing to do the work is the only real problem. Good Luck.

cartridge oal for .454 runs 1.77-1.8 on average .357 max runs 1.85-1.9 doesn't seem insumountable

I'd never heard the SAAMI pressure of the max was higher then the 357 Mag.  The 38 Sp yes, but the mag is a very high pressure round.

The other option might be to START with the 35 rem in Marlin and try the conversion in that direction.  New barrel, lifter modifyed, maybe new magazine tube, but the 35 rem is pretty high pressure as well.  It will handle the length no problem.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

357mag SAAMI MAP is 35kpsi, 357Max is 40kpsi, 35 Rem is less than both at 33.5kpsi, but has a bigger case head.

I've thought about having a lever gun in .445 super mag. I've got a Dan Wesson in that caliber, wonder if the .444 could be shortened? -gypsyman
