price on Ruger Bisley Bkackhack

I have an opportunity to purchase an older Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in 44 mag. This gun is still in the box and has only been fired about a dozen times so says the son of the deceased owner. What I would like to know is, What is this gun worth and what can I expect with this gun. I do not own a handgun and have only owned rifles and shotguns. Any advice would be appreciated. Pike

  Great gun. I love the Bisleys!  A fair price depending on condition would be $350 - $400.  I wouldn't necessarily say it's a great beginner's gun for the first time handgunner though.  None the less, if you can gtit at a fair price, a Single Six will be a perfect learning tool which will transition nicelt to the larger Bisley, especially if the Single Six is in the Bisley configuration as well.

I would say that 400 would be an excellent price! I would snap it right up! Most of them are very good shooters, some firelapping may be required for lead bullets....Let us know what you find out!

very good pistol, great price 400 and down... if you handload you can tailor loads .. or factory 44 specials are lighter for starters, but I got my first one and shot factory loads and it was just fine.. you will love it...
if you do not like it you can get your money out of it right here on this forum, easily, or on others where handgun is  spoken.. it is a great base gun for custom rebuilds and conversions...
you cannot go wrong with it...
heck if you do not want it..
ask me first ...

Dan Deluca aka "warrior1" has passed away.  Dan was a frequent poster here and on several other sites.  He passed away on 12/29/08 from a massive heart attack. RIP Dan.

I just looked at one in .44 w/ 7 1/2" barrel tonight about 95%+ condition.  It has the scenery stuff etched on the cylinder.  Anyway the tag read $279, yup, I put it on lay-a-way.

Thanks for the advice on the Ruger Blackhawk. I picked it up last night for 350. I will give a report on how it shoots once I get it to the range hopefully next week. Youth hunting season is this weekend in Missouri and I am taking my daughter. If we finish early maybe I will get to the range this weekend.
