The 10 magnum is about the length of the 41 magnum, I believe, but longer than the 10mm and cannot be chambered in 10mm pistols or revolvers.  Mikey.

I feel really dumb. I've never heard of a 10mm mag. Who makes guns in this caliber?

You can have a S&W 610 chambered for the 10mm mag

Griz - I forget exactly who makes or made pistols in the 10mm mag but it was something on the order of a Wildy or something of that size.  It was/is a big pistol.

Hairtrigger - a 610 in 10mm mag would be an interesting piece - sort of like a 41 magnum on a medium size frame - like the old Model 19s, and I would probably want one.  Mikey.

Ain't nothin' dumb about your question! The 10mm magnum was a short-lived project started by the guys at AMT/ IAI back in the 1980's. It was briefly available in one of their longslide models. I shot one that belonged to Walt Jones, Production Mgr of IAI in Irwindale, Ca., and can tell you it was GREAT!
I have heard many times that LAR chambered their Grizzly pistol in 10MM magnum, but I have never seen one or known anyone else who has. And I have been on the 10mm bandwagon for nearly 20 years, so I do have numerous fellow 10-nuts to ask!

About 1986, I bought an AMT 10mm Magnum from a young airman that was being shipped overseas and could not take the gun with him.  I gave $300. for the gun, custom made holster, cleaning kit, reloading dies, a hundred rounds of loaded ammo, and 200 empty cases along with powder, primers and bullets. I fired about 40-50 rounds through the gun, I was really impressed with the accuracy, and seemingly mild recoil.

A "gentlemen" came along who wanted the gun, he offered up a Winchester, Model 97, about 98% along with some cash, so we traded.  I got a very fine specimen of the Model 97, but I kinda wish I had hung on to the AMT.
