Mueller scope on 243 barrel.
« on: June 03, 2007, 01:56:17 PM »
Hey Guys. I have been looking for a decent scope to put on the new 243 bull barrel I just got. This is the one I am thinking of. http://www.muelleroptics.com/products/MT852544.html It is a 8.5x25x44 scope for $179.95. What do you think? It is from one of sponsor's. Do any of you own Mueller scopes and what do you think of them?

dale,
I have that scope on my rem 700 22-250. I love the scope. It's bright, good eye relief. I have had it for maybe two or three years have had no problem with it. It's a great scope for the money for sure.  As for the clarity I feel that it is top notch for the price. I would not hesitate to buy another Muller scope for any of my guns.

How is it to look through when it is turned up to 25 power? I have a 6x24x40 Bushnell banner that when you turn it up to 24 power you have to get your eye just right to see through it. That is why I really don't use it past 20 power.

I have the 8.5x25x44 tactical on my savage 17hmr. Its clearer at 25 power than my tasco and bsa 6x24 scopes are at mid powers, I plan on putting one on my ultra varmint to replace the bsa. the eye relief isnt the greatest,but Its worth the money. I got mine from oneclickshooting.com for 159.99 shipped.

Dale,
I haven't had that problem with my mulller. I use mine at high power quite a bit, clarity is good as well.

I haven't had enough range time with my Mueller Eraticator to write a review but I can tell you it is bright, clear and held zero thru 50 rounds mounted on my 25-06. I'll shoot the "box" next time out then probably move it to my 270 for another test session. So far I'd say...buy one!

Ken I was wondering how that 25-06 is working out for you?

Dale,
I have had the  8-25 tactical for a few weeks now.  Love the scope, it is clearer on 25x than my millet is on 10.  It seems to have less of a problem with winking than the millet.  I didn't like the millet because at 14x you just couldn't hold your position with out it blacking out.  At 25x with the mueller I can get and hold a good sight picture.

Have not shot it enough to know the durability, but I'm not looking for any problems.  Their warranty is good.

Just my 2cents.
Bobby

Oh, I got it from oneclickshooting.com,like inrut,  for 159.00 free shipping and free sunshade.  The sunshade did not fit but they are sending another one.

Hey Dale;
   I don't have that model, but I do have a 3-10x 44 Mueller on my .223 handi and it works great.  I also bought one for my son's model 700 .243 a couple years ago nad he has had good luck with it.  I think you'll be happy with a Mueller.
