I have a few stainless TC contender barrels. Can these be polished with flitz or any other metal polish to a high shine?

I don't see why not.  I know some of the Smith & Wesson owners use Scotch-Brite pads to polish stainless steel revolvers from matte finish to a high-polish finish.  They also use it to remove the laser-etching on some stainless revolvers.   The pads come in various grits and are color-coded.  Here's a link that decribes them.  They are made by 3M, so you could check their site also.

Be warned, a polished stainless barrel will magnify every scratch, ding, or blemish on that barrel. Makes new ones show up like poop an a white duck.   KN

I think I know where he's going with this...  Really bright shiny barrels to blind the Prairie Dogs and then shoot 'em!   ;D :o

My thought exactly!  Might as well take it over to the bench grinder and get it down to bare metal.   ???   :o
