i did i some looking at the leverevolution 444, 450, and 45/70 and they would make good elk cartridges for elk and other big game at 100-200 yards. at 100 yards the 444 and 45/70 have a little more than the 270win(rem 150gr core lokt) and has about the same trajectory. The 450 has a little more power than the 30/06(win 180gr silver tip) and has about the same trajectory. At 200 yards the 450 and 444 are a little more powerful than the 270 and the 45/70 has the same power as the 270. pass 200 the drop is to much because at 300 yards they all drop from 18-27 inchs. so the new lever ammo gives your lever guns(444 and 450 the most) the power of 270win out to 300 but because of the drop it should be good at 250. I don't know much about long range shots on game because i used to use a ruger 454 but with this new ammo i can see myself hunting hogs or other big game in the US with a 1895M guide gun or a model 94 trapper in 30/30.
