Bullet casting kits
«

To get ino bullet casting, are there kits available? Not looking to go nuts $$$ wise here mind you, but having a 38-55 now and a soon to be acquired 45-70 (levergun), making my own bullets might become a finacial necessity.
Any kits out there?

look on midway or midsouth for a lyman expert kit. It has everything you need except a bullet mold and a sizing die and top punch. I started with one myself and still use some of the stuff in it. They can be had last time i looked for about 120 bucks. This kit is a dipper pot kit not a bottom pour. I mostly use bottom pour pots anymore but its a good place to start and learn. I made many thousand bullets with one before i upgraded. To me and ill get some arguments from some im sure, Id rather have the dipper pot then one of the cheap lee bottom pours that drip. Some will tell you that you dont need a lubesizer that you can use lee size dies and tumble lube but that to me is like putting a 20 dollar scope on a 1000 dollar gun. The lyman kit has good stuff in it. Stuff that will last an average caster his lifetime. It wont win any contests for the ammount of bullets you crank out but when your learning quality is what you want not quantity.
