Where to find some Berdan primers?
« on: July 09, 2007, 10:09:20 AM »
The other day, a guy was shooting his K31 at the range and asked if anyone reloaded the 7.5x55 and if so, would they want his brass? My hand went in the air and I got about 50 pieces of brass after he was done.

"Score!" me thinks.

I get it home and run them through the tumbler. However, couldn't get the primer out.

You know what I was dealing with, right? Yeah, Berdan primers.

"OK," sez I. "Let's make that hydraulic decapper you saw on SurplusRifle."

Off to Home Depot and, about $8.00 later, I had the materials to make the decapper. It worked wonderfully!

So now I have 50 cartridges that need .217 Berdan primers. The question becomes, "Where do I get primers?"

Can you help? (I have done a search on Midway, but got no results.)

Take a look at the above link.  At the bottom of the page are links to some possible suppliers one of which is Graf & Sons.

Good luck!
