OH CCW list posted in Sandusky Registert.....assistance needed

the Sandusky Register has published 5 counties worth of CCW permit holders (name, age, county).

Incredible.  I hope someone sues the pants off these idiots.  How did the Sandusky Register get the list off CCW's to begin with?  I didn't think that they were a matter of public record.  Did the police hand over the records? 

Someone should take out a big ad in the local papers publishing the names and addresses of anyone involved in the publication of the CCW holders names in the Register.   See how they like it.

All involved should be sued for the cost of a monitored alarm system or for the relocation of the families involved! They have put these families at risk!

This is the main reason I havn't got my CCW permit here in Ohio. That was one of the provision's in the original bill, that our gov. at the time,Taft, made sure was in the bill. I know that they were trying to amend some of the quirks in that bill. But they havn't  got that far with it yet. Evidently the provision hasn't been changed yet.-gypsyman

Ccw licenses are a matter of public record in the state of Ohio. There is relay nothing wrong with this as far as i can see; however, for a newspaper or T.V news program to publicly advertise this is unethical and immoral (but since when has our news organizations been ethical or moral.) I believe that their is good cause for a class-action lawsuit here. Contact your representatives and see about getting the laws regarding public access to ccw holder records changed is it bothers you. I know i will. I thank them doing this is is just a list  for criminals who want a gun to break into. If my name was on that list and i got assaulted or my house broken into I would be on the warpath.
