Have a torque wrench? If you wan't 'peace of mind', it'll go a long way in having the screws set to remingtons specs, that's if they have any for that model. I forgot what mine are set @. I think that with every rifle, the recommended settings change a little due to stock variations.

I'm headed out to a party right now but if noone has any info here tomorrow by this time, I'll do some googling or contact Remington.

Happy 4th!!

Thanks, and I did.

Question my friend...

before I start looking into the recommended torque, knowing which model it is might help seeing as they are different stocks(you wanted peace of mind right?). Am I to assume it's the standard model? If not, the Varmint or Tactical?

Ok scratch the Tactical, it's not offered in .22-250, so its the basic one or varmint, let me know when ya get a chance.

Update:

As per Remington....

ALL SPS models, regardless of stock, 30 to 34 inch lbs.

I know some people set it to whatever and shoot several groups at varying inch lbs until they find the torque setting that specific rifle likes.

Thank you sniperVLS,
Yep,it's the standard model. I had trouble grouping after I had it apart and was blaming the scope but after further investigation,I had the screws way to loose,I got another half crank on them and now it is shooting again.I will invest in a torque wrench though. That's a big help.Thanks.
