Glad you enjoyed your purchase.  Had you practiced your trigger pull?  I put snap caps in the chambers and practice at targets at varying distance.  You would be surprised at the  bad habbits you find.

From what I have read in the manual, it says that dry firing the Super Redhawk willnot hurt it. I didn't use snap caps. I know I'm gonna need alot more practice, but that's part of the fun right? I know I'm gonna have to shoot it in on a rest to get the sights right & go from there. At least I'll have my brother in-law to help me & the wealth of info here to help me become better I hope.

I shot it again today, this time from a rest & found out it was me & my uncle both shooting to the left. It bullseyed the very first shot. Was shooting rotten tomatoes at 20 yrds. That was alot of fun, I'm getting better. I'm very pleased with my caliper choice. The Super Redhawk feels just right!

I agree with Loyd.  Get the .44 mag.  And reload!  I have a 6 inch M29 and love it.  It can do everything.  Hunting with either a 180 grain JSP from UMC (Remington B line) for deer or a 240 grain for larger game.  I reload a 180 grain JHP and FMJ as well in a Blue dot load for .44 special for steel target and bowling pins.  the loading Data is in the Hercules book I have mine tuned to around 1,050 FPS and they take bowning pins right off the table and the FMJ loads work very well for me in a tactical handgun shoot my club puts on every month.
The only advice I can give you to learn how to shoot the big guns  is have a buddy load the gun for you.  Have him put magnum, specials and empty cases in the cylinder and you pick up the gun and shoot.  If you have a flinch the empty will point it out in a big hurry.  This is a method I picked up in Va teaching police officers how to master their model 60's in 357 mag.
Enjoy.
