survivor storearm questions
« on: July 16, 2007, 08:47:35 PM »
Does the Survivor "storearm" have door/hatch/whatever on it?  What is the point if the rifle is taken down?  I was thinking that it was a cool idea, but if it is just a hollow space then it only works when the rifle is assembled right?  When taken down, the stuff that you put in there would just fall out.

you could screw it back onto the barrel once you broke the rifle down.

That said some of the posts by the hardcore guys say that once you have the Handi shooting dead on don't break it down inevitably you alter the torque on the screw holding the forearm on and perhaps the point of aim.

I was thinking a Versa Rifle, youth model, with a Survivor storearm on it carried in backpack.  One of those lace on style pouches for the stock would probably work better, eh?

The buttstock on a Survivor is also hollow, and with a hinged butt pad, so if it is just  space for carrying stuff (like small survival thingys etc) you want. And the Survivor butt is of a length that is longer than a youth, but shorter than an adult, so it just might work for ya in a backpack too.

I need to fondle a Survivor to see the stock and forearms in person.  Thanks for the tip on the stock.  That might be the way to go.

Blue..

Here are some pics that might be useful. They show a Survivor set up on my 45LC barrel and frame. Barrel is 20" rather than other Handis with 22" barrels. My son (12) loves this set up.  ;D
