My sweet little single shot survival shotgun
« on: June 08, 2007, 10:15:57 AM »
I picked up a pawnshop special...20 ga. Stevens 9478, ($59.00 out the door), cut the barrel to 19", sewed a leather buttcuff shell holder for 7 rounds, bought a 20 ga. to 9mm adapter (Dina Arms from Numrich), shot it, loved it, ordered a 20 ga. to .22 LR adapter this afternoon, stuck some Uncle Mike's sling adapters on it, slung it, epoxied on a HiViz sight...and VOILA...a great little knock around woods gun.!!
Dina Arms makes adapters for .357 and 44 mag as well for 20 ga. guns. and there's all kinds of calibers available in adapters from MCA Sports in Anchorage, AK.  With Fiocchi AeroSlugs and with the 9mm adapter I'm getting pretty good groups at about 75 yds.  The slugs are an major arm buster though but it's still an awesome experience to touch one off with a lightweight gun like this! But, the way I look at it, I've got a shotgun, a slug gun, a 9mm short range rifle and a .22 plinker all in one lightweight carry package...not bad for a woods-snoopin', rattlesnake chasin' weapon!  Y'all ought to try it yourself.

Your shotgun sounds very cool Kmystry.  Good value.  Now about the adapters.   I'm not a shotgun guy, and am not familiar with the adapter thing.  I have two questions:

Will they work in a rifled slug barrel?

                     and

Pressure isn't a problem?
