Ain't that the truth!! You can go out on charters, and as long as you have one good reeling arm, you can catch all the fish you like!!
And old familiy friend of ours had a business, called "Bob's walkabout flyfishing." I think everything I saw him guiding, he was taking a nap on the bank while the customer was fishing. Of course he took care of all the flies, making sure they knew what they were doing, and setting up all the gear... but he sure didn't travel too far on foot, and neither he nor the client worked too hard.
And it's not all fishing crab like on the TV.
Heck, if you can climb onto a bank twice a day, you could make a five/six/ten day down the gulkana and fish from the boat, or sitting down on shore all day and have not a trouble in the world doing so. The good thing about Alaska - when you are tired of fishing, it's cause you are tired of catching fish.
