a old lion

this really don't matter but i will ask. there a old female lion living on a small island out in the bay. I think it used to be a pet or something because lots of people have seen it and it never attack people or even shows that it cares. but anyways what cal. do you think would be good to kill a lion? I am not going to kill it but if i wanted to what should i used?

If it is living on an island "in the bay" it probably is slowly starving to death and is a danger to anybody who goes there.  Proper authorities should be notified so the animal can either be destroyed or rescued.

no, the island has lots of game(hogs, deer, other stuff) i go hunting there. I am not the only one that saw it so if some else what to call the cops that them. It's been there over a year now and no one called the cops so i guess no one care. I saw it this morning sleeping on the bank of the island.

An animal like that would probably be dangerous.  Being, most likely, a released or escaped pet, it has no fear of man.  Personally, I'd drive a couple of slugs through it's chest from a safe range.  A .22 would kill it, but I'd use something a bit heavier myself.  Start thinking 30-06 and up, many african countries have a .40 cal minimum.  Even though everyone around you ignores it, it's still a potential danger to anyone who sets foot on that island.  I would contact whatever are the proper authorities in your area and if they refuse to take action, I'd do it myself.

 Jamaldog- I have been studying on this for a while. I have a pretty potent Wham-o wrist rocket with 45cal balls that i use to shoot in it and a real nice Chinese springer pellet gun. I would use either one, both should do the trick. I have killed far tougher game with both. Now with a little more thought, I would use the pellet gun.

well i talk to my neighbors and we all say it's better to just let it just stay were it is.  One man said it been there for 15 years because that how long he has been seeing it. So that the end of this lion hunt.

USA,FL Tampa bay area African Lion, yes that what i am talking about. there one here and it looks like it going to be here tell it dies. which looks to be soon because that thing is OLD-ED.

Sorry, not buying it.  I can't imagine it being there more than a week in todays world. There are no secluded places in Florida, bay or not, anymore.  Someone will find it and GUARANTEED some redneck would be happy to take a chance to make himself famous for killing the lion in tampa bay.

Also, no one in their right mind would go hunting on an island with a lion and think he is safe.  Definately not with the guns most americans take out hunting.

maybe no one got off that the lion attacked , just another missing boat in the gulf !
we got this thing in the Chesapeake bay we call chessy ! sort of like the lock ness monster !

well if some red neck does then that how it ends. I really don't care anymore, it had pass in my head about shooting it on bait on a boat with my 12GA pump or getting the docs 375 traveler  but now that i found out no one wants it killed and that it's so old that i don't care anymore. I did tell that doc about it and he was going to kill it but after see it he said " it would not be fun or sporting, just a killing" So there it stays.

well she dead now. It was pretty mess-up so maybe it was fighting a hog or something was eating it. My next door neighbor saw it when he was out on his boat. so now it dead and in the ground.
