Smith & Wesson 1911
« on: June 20, 2003, 09:36:15 PM »
Does anyone have one of these?  I have examined several and have been very impressed with the fit, workmanship and use of custom parts.  I have never had (or wanted) a Smith semi-auto before, but this is a 1911(I have always respected and used their revolvers).  The price is very reasonable and I don't see anything that a Kimber has that this doesn't.  Any feedback.

Acctually its well known that smith and wesson have been providing parts to Kimber for years. In my oppinion when you buy a kimber all your really getting is a custom s&w. I cant help but wonder how that relationship is gonna go now that theres a S&W 1911.

Smith & Wesson 1911 replacement sights
« Reply #2 on: June 22, 2003, 08:53:02 PM »
Would anyone have an idea regarding whose night sights would fit this pistol?  It LOOKS just like a Kimber slide cut.  I am thinking of getting one of these for CCW carry (I'm big), but I am a firm believer in night sights.
