Actually, the question should be, does anyone use "this" powder since H414 and Winchester 760 are the very same powder.

I've never loaded for a 6mm Remington but H414/Win. 760 is worth a try.  I've had good success with it in both a 222 Remington and in a 308 Winchester.

Sorry for the highjack,

But I have to ask, how do you know H414 and 760 are the same? I use both and they don't look alike. The 760 I have is a round ball powder and the H414 is a smaller flat ball powder. I know that H414 works fine in the 220 swift and my 6mm-284, but 760 in the swift is all over the place. I am not saying your wrong, just want to know.

First of all, all the Winchester 760 and H414 powders I've inspected have been ball powders that have appeared identical to me.

I also contacted Hodgdon via e-mail about the Win. 760/H414 identities and they confirmed that they are the same powder.  For further proof, you can also consult the 2007 Hodgdon reloading magazine.  You will find that where H414 is listed for a load, they will also list IDENTICAL numbers for Win. 760.  In addition, H110 and Winchester 296 are the same powder.  If I remember correctly, there is also a Hodgdon powder that is the same as Winchester 748 but I forget what it is.  The best thing about this to know is that the Hodgdon versions of the powders are generally a little cheaper than the Winchester versions.

You probably know that Hodgdon distributes all Hodgon, Winchester and IMR brand powders.

I use H-414 for my .243 loads. I know that's not the same as the rem 6mm, but the H-414 produces excellent accuracy in the .243. I would think it would do the same for the rem 6mm.

BTW, if you look at the Hodgdon web site http://www.hodgdon.com/ and pull up the loads for the 243, the load weights for the H-414 and W-760 are identical down to PSI (or maybe it was CPU's). So, it would appear the two powders are the same.

Yes 760 works well in the 6mm. I have had better accuracy with IMR 4350 though.
