I like to here what your favorite belt holster for the full size 1911 5"

I made my version of the Yaqui Slide which I call the Jock Strap.  Has a loop for the belt and holds the pistol covering the trigger guard with a slight forward cant.   By the design, the tension the belt creates wrapping the waist snugs the pistol securely.

I like Castaways style holster,I have had leather and kydex versions of that style and love them , I am now using a Fobus paddle, called the Bikini .  Doug

Depends on what you want to use it for.  Concealment, IDPA, IPSIC etc. 

For IDPA, I like the Safariland holsters (cant' remember the model)  Plastic on the outside, with a swede like lining that is easy on the gun finish.  It also comes with some spacers that allows you to adjust how far it stands out from your body....handy if your a little over weight.... and a screw that lets you adjust how tightly the gun is held in the holster.

I went with this holster hope it works out o.k.
I just bought a new open top(won't mention the bran name) but it was excellent holster but I did find the forward cant was a nitemare to draw the the holster on the shoulder.I like the lined holster but seem it did give more resistance to remove the gun from the holster.
I think the smaller the holster the easier to carry the full size 1911 and the other holster had a lot of leather on my hip
I think the price was right I seen this holster go for around 46.00 plus shipping for the above price it won't break the bank.
I here some say a lined holster will cause more wear on the gun compared to leather don't know how true is that statement:I can say all my service gun over the years did loose there blueing with just plain leather.
