The Tru-Oil on the wood won't match theTru-Oil on the glue joints.

JMO, but I would use a spray-on/aerosol epoxy finish, buffing the shine off a little with OOOO steel wool, if I didn't want the shiney finish it gives.

I have used TruOil on laminated stocks before and it works just fine. On laminated stocks there won't be any penetration on the glue joints and not very much on the laminations but who cares? It'll look just fine. Adjust the shine as usual and good luck. I usually use a rub on poly as it's easier to control but the sprays will do OK. Watch the overspray and don't breath too much! I've a 270 built on a 721 action in a super light weight laminate that is coming up to finish.. It needs the metal finished also but just too busy just now.

Tru Oil works and so does Tong Oil.  I have several Fajen laminated stocks that I have fitted.  One on a mauser rifle action and two on Rem xp-100.  Tong Oil on the Mauser came out very beautiful.  Almost hate to take it out hunting.  The XPs I use in silhouette so I had to rub the Tru Oil down good with the 0000 steel wool to keep the stock from being too slick.    One word of caution, give them time to seal/dry.   I would apply a coat, wait a couple of hours, apply another, then let the stock sit for a couple of days before rubbing down.  There is nothing worse than trying to rub down half dried gum......  :-[

Good luck,

Steve  :)
