Gamefinders , how do they work?
« on: July 15, 2007, 05:22:19 AM »
I am interested in trying one of the several "Gamefinder" tools. I don't know how they work. Do they use infra-red to find the game by it's body heat or do they somehow follow the blood trail?

I THINK they're heat activated.  Are you talking about the thingies that help you find wounded game?

They don't, plain and simple. Kinda like the pocket fisherman.

I have one, they will not work in warm weather. The trees and other objects hold heat and will give you a false reading. But in the winter time when it is cold, mine worked great.  It is called a heat seeker.

Kind of hard to track at night. I was hoping to use one to locate feral hogs that have been wounded or just ran a ways after being hit by people i take hog hunting.. As of now we don't follow them into thick brush until daylight .
