National geographic topo back roads explorer
« on: July 27, 2007, 09:31:50 AM »
Picked this up at Academy Sports for a topo program Ver 4.1
It states that it is Garmin Compatible.
I have Roads and streets on a 1g card with Bluechart on same card
How do I get this on the same card?
I think if I add to this card I lose info stored on card
I would like all on the same card.

Ouch!  I have a couple of USGS Topo Series.  Waypoints, tracks, and routes can be transfer up or down.  The maps will not load on to a Garmin gps to my knowledge.  Only Garmin products or licensed third party products will load.

From the USGS support page:

Support > GPS CompatibilityNOTE: Using TOPO! software, waypoints and routes can be transferred to and from your GPS unit, but the maps cannot be transferred or viewed on your GPS unit.
There is a learning process to effectively using a gps.  Do not throw your compass and map away!
