Received my CCL this week (finally)

Well it took almost the full 90 days (Oklahoma must issue or decline within 90 days of receipt of your application) but I finally got my license. Good timing though. Some buddies and I are taking a road trip this week. Thanks for all the good advice I have read on here during the wait. It sure helped pass the time for a non-patient person like myself. Got my first one a bit over 41 years ago the day after I turned 21 the then legal age to have one in Bama. Took about ten minutes as I recall. Renewals take about the same time or less today depending on how busy they are and how many are in line ahead of me at the Sheriff's office.

I have been carrying for almost 40yrs. Although I'm retired LEO and can carry without a CHL, I still have had a CHL every since the law went into effect in my state. It really speeds things up on firearms purchases! I think everyone who qualifies should have a CHL. Those numbers mean something to politicians!!!
