Contender or Encore for carbine?
« on: September 27, 2007, 12:49:58 PM »
I have been thinking about a TC carbine in .357 Max.  Would you recommend a contender or an encore for a lightweight knock around gun and why?

Thanks,

Crabo

G2 is smaller and lig;hter and makes a easier kick around rifle. I t can be converted to 22lr .22mag or onr of the 17s with just a barrel change. You can get rifle barrels up to 7 30 waters or30-30. I you plan on a bigger barrel than the 30-30 go Encore.

Both the Contender and Encore can be had in cartridges suitable for everything from varmints to elephant.  If you want to shoot rimfire cartrodges and don't plan on high pressure cartridges like the 30/06, etc., go with the Contender; otherwise go with the Encore.

Good point.  Who can stop at just one?

For me the answer is G2 if offered in both and Encore only if it's one that the G2 can't handle.
