Well I'm only new here in the sense that I haven't ever posted before. I've been able to get any info I've needed by "reading a little deeper". I must say the wealth of information here is astounding! For a little background. I have an old style contender with wood grips and the following barrels: .22, .223, 30-30, and my .309JdJ should arrive later this week. In the past I've used my 30-30 barrel for deer hunting and will be using the 309JDJ this year (can't wait). I've always used a bandoleer style holster that I have never really liked. I've also tried a traditional style shoulder harness and didn't like it either. With a 14 in. barrel I'm thinking wearing on the hip is out. So this year I was going to give a sling a try. My question is what is the best method of attaching the swivel mounts to the gun? There really isn't alot of wood in the fore end and that concerns me a bit...or does it mount somehow to the mounting screw? Is there a kit that contains the hardware? The leather work portion isn't a problem since I am a leatherworker. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks, Mike
