Good News Bad News
« on: October 29, 2007, 07:02:47 PM »
Good News
I took my absolute steaming piece of you know what Stevens 200 223 with an even bigger steaming piece of you
know what Barska 4-16 varmint scope down to the gun shop and traded it in on a SB2-224 22 Hornet! Yea Buddy!
I pick it up on 11-15!

Bad News
Mucho hectic afternoon at work! A guy waited until the last minute to tell me he needed me to make him something
immediately because he was going out of town on Wednesday on business when he could have told me last week
when it would have been no problem to meet this deadline. Ended up staying over 2 extra hours trying to put out this
fire. What a P.I.T.A.!

Good News
Caldwell cheapo Handy Rest that I ordered from Mid South was waiting for me at my door.

Bad News
It came minus the elevation adjuster nut!

More Bad News
The power has been out at home since 11:00 A.M.

Good News
The beer in the fridge is still semi cold!

Bad News
I got a letter from H&R. It seems they are fresh out of cinnamon thumbhole laminated stocks.

Good news
I know they still have cinnamon laminated Monte Carlo stocks. I will order the stock and forend
tomorrow.

Bad News
I talked to my neighbor who is retired and has been home all day. The electric co. told her the
power should be back on at 3:00 P.M., no wait a minute, 5:00 P.M., no wait, 7:00 P.M.

Good News
The power finally came back on at 8:50 P.M.

With all the craziness that happened today it still couldn't wipe the smile off of me face from
this morning when I ordered the 22 Hornet Handi and got rid of that green plastic nightmare!
Sometimes you just have to laugh at adversity!

On a side note, I found it interesting that on the Hodgen reloading site that they list the
starting load for Lil' Gun in the 22 Hornet for 35 grain, 40 grain, and 45 grain bullets at 12 grains,
And the max loads at 13 grains for all 3 bullet weights! I thought that was pretty cool.
My Midway order comes in tomorrow with the brass and bullets for my 223 bull barrel.
It's going to be a fun week.  ;D

The max load is most likely all that will fit in the case.  Guess you can just scoop it full and seat a bullet, kind of cuts out all that sissy weighing stuff.  Larry

Yea Henry1,
I am almost as happy getting rid of that Stevens as I am knowing that 22 Hornet Handi is on the way.

Congrats on the Hornet, one of the must-have chamberings in a Handi. ;)

There are a few that aren't must-haves, 7.62x39 and 38-55 would be a couple near the top of the very short list, no offense to those that have them tho. ;)
