Stevens 200 .223 - Stock compatibility?

Quick question regarding the Stevens 200 short-action (.223 in particular): is it a true short action or do they use the long action with spacers?  Also, from what I've heard this is basically a 110 without the Accutrigger and a synthetic stock - if I were to replace the stock with wood is it drop-in compatible with a regular Savage 11/110 stock?

The Stevens 200 223 is a short action. It is drop in for any two digit model number (12, 10, 16). The three digit model number is the long action (110). The Stevens 270 or 30-06 are long actions and use a different receiver. Basically the only difference between a Stevens 200 and a regular Savage is the finish of the receiver; it is not polished before bluing (but the same) and no accutrigger. Stocks are interchangeable as long as you have the same action length. BTW you can purchase other parts for the Stevens, like improved triggers or a steel trigger guard or a longer bolt.
