Cammed Hinge Pin ?

Has anyone flirted with the idea of a Cammed hinge pin ?

A Head on one side, and drilled / tapped on the other, Cammed like .005 ? so you Loosen the pin, turn till tight / pre determined torque... whatever works.. Re tighten and it's "Fitted"  ;D  Of course the Latch would still need checked, but a single reciever could handle most any barrel, and it would take up any wear / stretch that happens with the heavy hitters.

I've considered doing one using an offset bushing with a bolt through the receiver to avoid having to ream the hinge pin hole.  If you used a sholder bolt you would have two busings, one offset in the middle and one the proper size in the frame opposite the sholder on the hinge bolt.  Larry

Good, logical thinking guys....if H&R did this then the accessory barrel business would become a major part of their business.
