dual sport bikes ?

 :) hi i just bought myself a new yamaha xt225 for getting around during hunting season on the logging / fire roads in the national forest and other public lands so i dont have to worry about breaking any atv access type laws. does anybody else ride a dual sport type bike?                                  http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelimage/9/1/1/1/image.aspx

Yup....I been using my XR600R for a few years...drags deer when I need to too....I wish I had a pic or two in the computer but I don't. The XR is a little more muscle and weight than I'd like but it does get the job done!  ;D

 8) glad to here there are others that enjoy this sport . i really dislike getting lumped in with the two stroke moto-x type guys that just tare up all the roads and make lots of noise ? just frustrating when you put in all the time scouting and someone comes ripping up the nearest or farthest road from me for that matter and scares everything to the next county. sorry for my rant .  ken have you seen the klx 250 its pretty good looking machine. thanx superdown

My Son is the Sales Mgr for one of the biggest "Men's Toy" Dealerships in Michigan so I get to see almost all of 'em....my XR600 just keeps thumping away so I see no need for any others...
I'm with you on the 2 strokes....and like you, I've had my share of "unwanted" noise in my "quiet zone" so I got with the neighbors and we all posted to keep MXers out....all has been well for a bit now.

 :) i was just reading the may issue of dirt bike magazine and this will be  suzuki's last year of 2 stroke involvment . it's been i dont know like close to ten years since their have been any major 2 stroke street bikes i cant think of any that are available now?

Yup....4 strokes are THE thing! Better mileage, quieter...cleaner....better durability, my Son races Supermotard?....dirt/paved and nearly all competitors are on 4 strokes.....  ;D

yu might look at the site xt225.com, they have tons of tech info and info about mods guys do to their bikes in order make them better suited to their individual needs.i have a 95 xt and have had good luck with it. only complaint i have with it is no kick starter. i understand there is a kit to fix that prob tho.happy rideing!
