Sorry...
« on: July 15, 2007, 04:29:41 PM »
I'm sorry that I haven't be around in a while, but we were getting ready for my Wife's hip replacement, which took place on 11 July. Her physical health looks very good, the surgery went well. but my wife is still under the influence of some chemicals that were given to her after surgery. She'll be at the local nursing home for 21 days for rehab, so I'll be in and out. Those of you who don't mind, say prayer for her and me, as those of you who have been through this know it puts a strain on both of us..
Thanks!

Done Tom and don't worry about being absent. Take care of your wife and return when you can. We'll take care of things here in the mean time.

Tom, get that wife of yours on the road to recovery and well, then there's plenty of time to get on here later. It's a while to hunting season anyway, so you have plenty of time to spend with her.

Thanks folks. I saw her today and after a discussion with her doctor yesterday, I insisted on ceasing a certain medication, and low and behold, her mind is almost 99% back to normal! A few more days and she should be herself again. That's a frightening thing to see....

Glad to hear your wife doing better. Tell her to do the exercises they'll give her, they are the fastest road to recovery from a total hip replacement. I've had two of them.

What, if I may be so bold, was the meds that were giving her the problems? A Nurse Practitioner almost killed my dad with a improper medication script.

She was taking M.S. contin before surgery to help ease the pain in her hip somewhat, but her doctor didn't refill her prescription. It was, however, on her list of medicines being taken prior to surgery. I suppose someone misread the papers and gave it to her as it would have been a normal thing.  Now she thinks that she's the bionic woman and should come home this weekend. I told her that she had to stay at least another week to do more rehab before they would even think about letting her come home for a visit. she hasn't been there long enough to learn to walk yet....
