07 Deer Pictures
« on: December 04, 2007, 01:16:43 PM »
Hey all.

I have seen several nice deer pics posted in various forums on this website. Let's post the pics of the successful 07 deer hunt in this thread. Rifle, Shotgun, Muzzleloader, bow, xbow, chevy, ford I don't care what you got it with just post it here, even if you posted somewhere else on this site.

Sure I will play. These are from this year.
A 10 pointer:

A double:

And last, the one from opening day:

They breed like rabbits around here.
All hunting was done on my property in Middle Georgia. the rifle NEF Survivor 308 (with Monte Carlo stock), Scope Nikon Prostaff 4x32, Ammo Federal Fusion 180 gr. 308.  All deer shot within 50 yards.
Everyone has a game plan, until they get punched in the mouth.

Live everyday as if it is your last!  Because someday you will be right.

From this year:

My first ever deer with a bow. Large for a 5 point, missing a brow tine:

First deer with a Muzzleloader. 8 point with two brow tines on the left rack.

Two does from rifle opening day:

8 point I had been chasing since September, now missing his antlers post rut. First deer I ever shot at with the bow (and missed)

Got this one last night. Shot him during our first snow and lost his tracks as they filled in with new snow. Searched for 4 hours, ran out of flashlight batteries and had to give up till this morning. Found him 30 yards away from where we were looking, fully submerged in a creek except for one antler and part of his face that was above the ice. You can still see the ice line going down his face by the nose.

7 point with a drop tine on his left antler. Begining of a drop kicker was starting on the other. We probably could have stood him up he was so frozen.

All were taken here at home. Only the dark brown one was taken without my son being there. He is one heck of a rattler.

I wish, I tell ya the deer sure know where they are safe. I got a button buck in Illinois and a 9 pointer in Wisconsin this year but don't have the pics back yet. Nothing as nice as that buck though.

Not a big buck by any stretch, but a good eater and that is what I was after.

I was sitting along an semi open spot where the deer tend to travel, and along came this fellow. He spotted me and took a couple of jumps and then looked back. I hit him in the heart with a 150g Winchester pointed soft point from my wife's Savage 340 in .30-30. The range was about 40 yards.

I started to go out to my spot "evenings" and watch for deer several days before season opened...  I always enjoy doing that, and it gives me a chance to see what's around here...

Here's some picts i took before season...

I even saw a few bucks,

  Some deer came quite close,

Then one day i saw a really nice buck, so i focused on getting him, and here he is on opening day...

As the season progressed, i kept seeing quite a few deer, including one doe that was limping quite badly...

So i harvested her too, and she was a big old doe!

  Hope you liked the picts...

the first 3 are my sister's nice bucks.. the buck on the right was a monster...

the spike horn of my brothers was taken on a morning i couldn't get out to hunt, i was hurting and was heavily medicated..
he shot it 20 yards of MY TREE STAND .. lol  was with him when he got the doe 2 days earlier though.lol

and my monster doe..  i got over 50, one pound packages of meat from her.  last week of hunting and it was getting cold. saw a 6 point and several others that day but she was the biggest of them all. I'm 6ft 1in she was big..
I'm not laughing at you I'm laughing with you,
                             Your just not laughing.......

Ever notice the deer we get is always smaller

Took her at 80 yards with a Deer Creek .45cal Muzzy loader loaded with a 225gr Powerbelt Aerotip and 80gr Triple 7 3F.
She went about 5 yards before dropping.

This was my first deer to be taken with a Flintlock muzzle loader, Took him in Sept 2006.  110gr 3F Goex, .490 patched round ball, head shot at 40 yards.
