I had a 93F for a while and liked it well enough. Savage builds a handy, accurate rifle and doesn't charge much for them; I honestly think they are a better buy than the Marlins, especially the newest ones with the Accutrigger
Mine was a pre-Accutrigger model and I got it for a very good price (around $140 IIRC). The trigger was good enough for my purposes and the rifle was more accurate than I could ever be, even with just the factory sights. I ended up selling mine to help finance a Henry because A. .22WMR is getting too expensive for me and B. the magazines that it uses are very poor in my opinion. I doubt the Marlin ones are much better, but the stamped steel clips Savage is selling are not good designs; both of mine had feeding problems and misshaped feed lips--better quality control or a tubular magazine would solve this issue. I can easily recommend the rifle, but just watch out for the clips. If they work right, you'll have a damn fine rifle for the money in my book
Hopefully, Savage/Lakefield Arms will come out with a better clip design or better yet a tube-fed version of this series at some point in the future. I hope this helps some & best of luck with your decision...if you get good mags, I think you'll be quite happy with a Savage 93.
Kind Regards,
