I believe total misses in a match should be included in the match bulletin. I recently shot in a match where one of the pards missed 26 targets and placed 22nd. I missed 3 targets and placed 46th. The misses, I believe, should be given 10 seconds penalty instead of 5 seconds. It seems to me , if you keep missing in a gunfight, you might get KILLED DEAD.

Ours do include misses. As I was told years ago:

You can't miss fast enough to win!

I'd always heard: "You can't miss fast enough to win." Guess that's not an absolute, especially if you're shooting against very slow accurate shooters.

Seriously, you shouldn't let that bother you. Concentrate on shooting against yourself - constantly try to better your time while maintaining or improving your accuracy. Sounds like you've got the accuracy thing down pat. Now you need to adopt a modified version of the "Don't work harder, work smarter" philosophy, and start shaving seconds off your draw, reholster, movement witihin the stage, shotgun reloads, etc. This can be practiced at home with dummy ammo without firing a shot. Speed will come with better familiarity with the various required actions. If you're serious about getting faster, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.

Thanks for your comments. I do shoot against myself and the pards in my category. I like to shoot duelist and I guess speed will come with time.

Lone Yankee, Besides SASS, there is NCOWS. At all NCOWS matches a miss is 10 sec. With the gamers shooting light loads very fast, it can be a challenge to count misses, especially when you get an arguement ever time. NO RUNNING in NCOW shoots and stage design is for fun and safety, not necessarilly speed. Be Safe ALWAYS!!! Have fun OFTEN!!!!
