« on: July 30, 2007, 05:19:31 PM »
anyone had any experience with a rem7600p the 16.25" barreled synthetic carbine model? i'm looking for a truck/ bug out gun, and currently own a rem 700 police and love it but a little unyeildy in the cab. and feel the carbine with an after market m-4 style sliding stock and a trijicon 4x would be bout perfect.

Not personally. There are a couple of others in another forum that have them and love them. I'm a pump guy myself and have three, one being the carbine 18.5" barrel in .30-06.

Check out www.huntingchat.net and ask for Little John (LJ), he'll answer any questions you might have.

I have the 7615P that I shoot in our local 200 and 300m Highpower matches. I LOVE IT!

I've owned a couple other remington pumps in the past, and I'll warn you now, Don't be surprised if the 7600P outshoots your rem700P :o

Going to a local gunshow on the 25th to look for one for a friend. If they don't have it we are heading to Dicks.

Do they make mounts/rings(assuming it takes a special mount) high enough so that a scope can be used yet leaving the open sights visible?

*EDIT:
I thought the regular 7600 was being discussed here, silly me. Every maker of bases/rings offers a base for the 7600/7400s, didn't know they were so popular. I'm a bolt guy thru and thru, though it may be time to add a pump rifle to the safe.

I have a 760 Carbine in .30-06 with an 18" barrel.  I love that gun.  It's killed deer from 30 to 200 yards.
